We had an excellent time camping here. Rather than stay in one of the standard sites we took a spot right on the water. There is a hiking trail around the lake with campsites along its path. We took one of these. It was a good distance from all other campers and we had good access to one of the sandy beaches. The water is clear, crystal clear. The trade off is that the lake is practically devoid of life. No fish. We brought snorkeling gear and an underwater camera, it was great.
We love camping here because of the scenery and the beautiful water. It is a great family campsite, but it does have its problems. The past two times we have gone there have been a horrible group of college kids. We just spent the werkend there and left early because we couldn't take it anymore. These kids were up u til 4am screaming and yelling at each other and had their music blasted. Camphosr was notified by other campers and didn't do a thing. We woke up to someone from their side screaming bloody murder at 6am. Otherwise great place to home, camp, swim, and play on the water.
Always too crowded. Can never get a spot.
Beautiful lake. Clear pure fresh water. Lots of camping spaces not crowded
